Is there too much lead in your drinking water?

by Katalin Ivanyi modified 2007-11-21 17:20

If your house or apartment was built before 1955, and it is connected to the municipal water supply, the main water service pipe may be made of lead. Water in some of these homes has been found to slightly high lead levels, which can result in some health problems if undetected.

The Department of Public Health in Hamilton has published an Advisory regarding this issue.

Please click here to read more about how to protect yourself and your family, and how to have your water tested.

You may also be eligible for a loan from the City of Hamilton to help replace any lead water service pipes. Read more about this program here.
